Gosaikunda Lake Trek is one of the naturally and culturally best destinations for adventure travelers in Nepal. Gosaikunda Lake lies in Langtang region. This region is one of the nearest and best trekking destinations from Kathmandu valley (capital city of Nepal). It lies about 130 km north of the Kathmandu Valley close to the border with Tibet; China.This Lake has gained its reputation among the tourist. Gosainkunda the sacred lake is regarded as a major pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists .Gosainkunad trek considered as a holy and a pilgrimage lake trek which combines the remote and spectacular hidden valleys of Langtang with the holy lake of Gosainkunda which is unique and one of the holiest Lake.

Gosaikunda Lake Trek is adventure trekking of Langtang trekking Region. This trek offers an opportunity to discover Tibetan villages, Tamang Villages, panoramic Himalayan views of the Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Yala peak, Naya kanga, Gaurishankar including the Annapurna Himalayan range.It is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides and a great ensemble of nine other lakes accompany the Goisaikunda. Every year during Janai Purnima in August, hundreds of Hindu pilgrims visit for a holy bath in the lake. The large rock at the center of the lake is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine and it is also claimed that channel carries water from the lake directly to the tank at the Kumbheshwar Temple in Patan in the Kathmandu valley. The trek passes through varied landscapes ranging from evergreen forest, cascading waterfalls and turbulent streams to alpine grass and barren mountainsides. Besides the famous Gosainkunda Lake, the other lakes in the neighborhood are Nagkunda, Bhairabkunda, Saraswatikunda and Surajkunda.

Ganja La trek starts from Sybru Bensi and ends at Chisapani. The trek begins by hiking up river through lush rhododendron and bamboo forests to Kyangin Gompa. Kyangin Gompa is surrounded by towering snow capped peaks and is home to a Buddhist monastery.Here in Langtang region green and pleasant land of quiet villages, terraced slopes and pine forests leading up to Langtang National Park a perfect place for relaxed, culturally oriented trekking and get entertain to see the Wildlife includes migratory birds, deer, monkeys, tahr and pika. Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport (1345 meters).

Day 02:Information about trip and sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley.

Day 03:Drive from Kathmandu to syabrubeshi (1503 meters). About 7 hours.

Day 04:Trek from Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2410 meters). About 6-7 hours.

Day 05:Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley (3431 meters). About 6 hours.

Day 06:Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyangin gompa (3829 meters). About 4-5 hours.

Day 07:Early morning hike to Kyangin-Ri (4749 meters) and trek back to Langtang Valley. About 6-7 hours.

Day 08:Trek back to Lama Hotel. About 5-6 hours.

Day 09:Trek to Thulosypru from lama hotel (2210 meters). About 5-6 hours.

Day 10:Trek to Chandanbari (3329 meters). About 5-6 hours.

Day 11:Trek to Lauribina (3910 Meters). About 4-5 hours.

Day 12:Trek to Gosaikunda Lake (4380 meters). About 4-5 hours.

Day 13:Trek back to Chandanbari (3329 meters). About 5-6 hours.

Day 14:Trek back to Dhunche (1960 meters). About 5 hours.

Day 15:Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 16:Transfer to Kathmandu airport for your onward destination.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport (1345 meters).Welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal. Representative of Lovely Nepal Tours and Travels receives at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. A short briefing is given to you about the activities of tomorrow. Overnight at hotel. (B & B)

Day 02Information about trip and sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. After the breakfast, you set out for the guided city sightseeing trip. Kathmandu is a city of temples. The tour escorts you to the UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites. Temples and Buddhist Stupas are the focused travelling monumental sites. Pashupatinath (Hindu shrine), Boudhanath (Buddhist Stupa), Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa are some of them. The mediaeval arts and architectures are amazing. Drive back to the hotel and take a rest. Overnight at hotel. (B & B)

Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to syabrubeshi (1503 meters). About 7 hours. In the morning, we take a drive to Syabrubesi via Nuwakot. The road is comparatively narrow but the sceneries are awesome. The white peaks on the north, green hills and villages, forests and terraced fields can be seen. First we reach to Dhunche and then to Syabrubesi. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 04Trek from Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2410 meters). About 6-7 hours. The first day of the trek, we begin the trek following the Langtang Khola. After Bamboo, we ascend to Rimche, a picturesque settlement beside the Langtang Khola. Having Lunch at Rimche, we continue walking to Lama Hotel. This is a pocket zone of red panda, if we are lucky, we can see it. Overnight at lodge at Lama Hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 05Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley (3431 meters). About 6 hours. After breakfast at Lama Hotel, we follow the route to Ghoda Tabela which is the gateway to Langtang valley. Once we reach there, we enter to this beautiful valley, which was called the most beautiful valley in the world by the famous British mountaineer Bill Tilman. Traditional Tamang houses and cultural prosperity can be seen once we reach to the Langtang valley. The devastating earthquake of 2015 caused total collapse of this valley and later rebuilt. Day 06Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyangin gompa (3829 meters). About 4-5 hours. A short walk from the Langtang valley to Kyanjin Gompa is exciting. On the way, we visit the cheese factory. These are produced from the local resources. The view of Langtang Lirung can be seen during the trekking. Kyanjin is the last village at the Tibetan border, where there is a famous Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07Early morning hike to Kyangin-Ri (4749 meters) and trek back to Langtang Valley. About 6-7 hours. Today is an exploration day. After breakfast, we set out for the hiking to Kyanjin Ri and explore the eye-catching alipe beauties of the Langtang Himalayan range. Another option is to explore the ethnic village, monastery and the surroundings. Tibetan Buddhism has been flourished around the Langtang region. Then we trek down to the Langtang valley. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 08Trek back to Lama Hotel. About 5-6 hours. We begin to walk down continually through the moderate trail. There are several Gompas on the way. We pass Chyamki and Ghodatabela and reach Lama Hotel, resided by the Langtang Khola. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 09Trek to Thulosypru from lama hotel (2210 meters). About 5-6 hours. Beginning the trek from Lama Hotel, we gradually approach down to the landslide area and climb up steeply to Thulosyabru. The trail is naturally rewarding, which is a pocket zone of monkey, red panda and different bird species. The glorious Himalayas that can be seen during the trek include Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal. Reach to Thulo Syabru and rest. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 10Trek to Chandanbari (3329 meters). About 5-6 hours. The way is quite rugged. We commence through the rhododendron forest and meadows. Culture comes along with the magnificent sceneries of the surrounding green forest, that of Himalayas. Reaching Chandanbari, we are in the high altitude zone and acclimatization is needed. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 11Trek to Lauribina (3910 Meters). About 4-5 hours. Exploring the views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal and the Tibetan Mountains on the northern territory, we head to Lauribina. We are close to our destination- Gosaikunda Lake. The trail is dotted by the stone. It is quite isolated and the increasing altitude is a challenge in the excursion. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 12Trek to Gosaikunda Lake (4380 meters). About 4-5 hours. We gradually climb up from Lauribinayak. Through the rugged country trail, we continue the excursion to the holy Gosaikunda Lake. The magnificent sceneries of Langtang range, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal range peaks encourage you to have a very much rewarding moment. Passing the grazing meadows, we reach to the treeless glacial zone of the Gosaikunda Lake. Several big and tiny Lakes surround this Lake, which is believed to have created by Lord Shiva. Every year, at the Janaipurnima festival, Hindu and Buddhist devotees go there for as the pilgrimage trip. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 13Trek back to Chandanbari (3329 meters). About 5-6 hours. We retrace to Chandanbari after exploring the awe-inspiring panorama of the golden sunrise view over the enticing white peaks. Due to the decreasing altitude, the trek becomes easy. Trek down all the way to Chandanbari and rest. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 14Trek back to Dhunche (1960 meters). About 5 hours. The last day of the foothill excursion, we reach to Dhunche from Chandanbari. Then we get refreshed and take a rest. It’s time to have a spectacular moment at the last day. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D

Day 15Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel. In the morning we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel and rest. Overnight at hotel.
