It is one of the most famous and most loved travel sites of Bhaktapur. This day tour is popular among both foreign and local tourists. This gives the countryside feel yet being so close to the crowded city of Kathmandu. On proceeding further, we walk through green pine forest glancing the scenic beauty of snow capped mountains and valley on either sides. The Nagarkot Changunarayan hiking route is a short and easy hiking route descending downwards and sometime straight. Fresh air and chirping of birds and insects along hike through the green forest makes the tour pleasant and peaceful.  After about 4 hours of hike we reach Changu Narayan temple. This temple is the oldest pagoda style Hindu temple in Nepal. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On its vicinity, there is Changunarayan museum where we can view the collection of ancient art, coins, architectures and tools. This temple built on 5th century is listed under UNESCO world heritage site. In the temple premises lies over 1000 year old stone sculpture.
