Patan City, city of fine arts, enclosed within 4 stupas said to be built in 3rd century AD, by Emperor Ashoka. You will see the Durbar square- is well packed with temples giving an architectural feast with a far greater concentration of temples per square meter, the Krishna Temple built by Kind Siddhi Narsingh Malla, Hiranya Varna Mabavihar and MahadouddhaTemple, Mahaboudha Temple, Kumbeshwor temple, , Golden Temple and many other places of Patan, you feel as if Patan has been unveiled before you as an open museum showcasing intricately carved windows, intrinsic roof struts, statues of gods and goddesses, temples designed in pagoda style with erotic carvings and repousse metalwork facades and many other exquisite facets. The Patan City is designed in the shape of Dharma Chakra, which is a shape that exhibits paths to enlightenment based on the teachings of Buddha. Patan is the centre of exquisitely ancient craftwork in the midst of urbanization.
